The Offer 

Open a new Qtrade Direct Investing account and satisfy the offer terms and conditions and you may be eligible for up to 50 free trades (the “Offer”).

To qualify:

 Submit a new account application to Qtrade Direct Investing using promo code 50FREETRADES2023 during the Account Opening Period.

• Fund your account and start trading.
• Qualifying trades must be filled between the date of opening the new account and 11:59 pm ET on April 30, 2024 (the “Offer Trading Period”).

If all the terms and conditions of this offer have been satisfied, you will receive a rebate for up to 50 trades in your account by May 31, 2024.

Account Opening Period  

This Offer applies to accounts opened between September 1, 2023, at 12:00 am ET and October 31, 2023, at 11:59 pm ET (the “Account Opening Period”).

Qualifying Account Criteria

 The account application form associated with the account (the “Qualifying Account”) must have the promo code “50FREETRADES2023” applied to it and must be submitted during the Account Opening Period. 

To qualify, the new account opened must be a CAD Cash (individual or joint), USD Cash (individual or joint), CAD Margin (individual or joint), USD Margin (individual or joint) RESP, CAD RRSP, CAD RRIF, CAD Spousal RRSP, CAD Spousal RRIF, USD RRSP, USD RRIF, USD Spousal RRSP, USD Spousal RRIF, LIRA, CAD TFSA or USD TFSA.

Delivery Against Payment (DAP) accounts are ineligible for this Offer. 

New accounts must meet Qtrade Direct Investing’s opening requirements and related documentation requirements and be approved by Qtrade Direct Investing in its sole and absolute discretion. 

Qualifying Accounts must be in good standing throughout the Offer Trading Period. The Qualifying Account must not have encountered a debit position or margin call during the Offer Trading Period. 

Qualifying Trade Criteria 

Qualifying trades for the purposes of this Offer are limited to the first 50 commissionable equity and ETF trades only (“Qualifying Trades”).  Option trades are not included and do not qualify for this Offer.  

Qualifying Trades must be from orders submitted and executed during the Offer Trading Period.

Qualifying Trades must be placed online via the Qtrade Direct Investing platform, or the Qtrade Direct Investing mobile app. Trades placed with an agent over the phone do not qualify.

General

This Offer is non-transferable and will not be valid in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. 

The Offer cannot be applied on previously or subsequently submitted account applications to Qtrade Direct Investing. 

Limit of one (1) Offer per Qualifying Account, per client. For spousal or joint accounts, only the primary account holder will be entitled to receive the Offer. This Offer is open only to the account holder and is not transferrable.

Clients who qualify for this Offer will not be eligible for any other offers or promotions from Qtrade Direct Investing until May 1, 2024. 

You must be a Canadian resident who is of the age of majority in your respective province or territory when submitting your new account application. 

Commission will be applied to initial trades in the Qualifying Account. Qualifying Trades will be rebated on or about May 31, 2024. 

The maximum value of this Offer per individual client is equivalent to $8.75 x 50 Trades.

The commission rebates will be credited to a Qualifying Account in which Qualifying Trades occurred. You are solely liable for any tax consequences associated with the Offer, including any taxes owing for your account in connection with the Offer. Please consult with your tax advisor for any specific questions regarding your personal circumstances and accepting the Offer. 

Assets transferred into a Qualifying Account must not include any securities that are restricted, subject to a cease trade order or that are non-listed and without independent evidence of current value acceptable to Qtrade Direct Investing. 

All dollar amounts mentioned in relation to this Offer are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified. 

The account subject to this Offer will be charged and rebated in the currency of the account (either CAD or USD).

The amount of any transfer-in fee charged by another Canadian broker or financial institution will be credited to your account in the currency (either CAD or USD) in which your transfer was made (up to a maximum of CAD/USD $150 per client when you transfer $15,000 or more), subject to Qtrade Direct Investing’s receipt of the documentation evidencing such transfer-in fee. This is part of the 50FREETRADES2023 Offer for new clients and does not constitute a combining of Qtrade Direct Investing offers.

Qtrade Direct Investing reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to modify, suspend, disqualify, limit or revoke this Offer to any person, client, or account holder for any reason, including but not limited to manipulation or abuse of the process, fairness, integrity, or operation of the Offer. 

The terms and conditions of this offer, including its overall availability, are at the sole and absolute discretion of Qtrade Direct Investing and are subject to change at any time without prior notice.

You may opt out of the Offer at any time by notifying Qtrade Direct Investing at 1.877.787.2330 or directinvesting@qtrade.ca, in which case any credits made to your account pursuant to the Offer will be cancelled or reversed.
