What are Analyst Ratings?
The Analyst Ratings provide investors with a snapshot of a stock's performance based on the opinions of leading financial analysts who monitor and report on select companies and provide an outlook for their stocks.
Investors can view a consensus rating, calculated by taking the average of all the analyst ratings for a particular stock. The consensus rating offers a quick and easy way to gauge analyst sentiment. If the consensus rating is positive, it suggests that the stock is a strong buy. Conversely, if the consensus rating is negative, it suggests that the stock may be a risky investment. You can also see an average analyst 12-month price target, plus the range of low to high price target estimates available. The ratings are frequently updated so you can stay up-to-date on the latest recommendations.
What is the News feature?
News provides real-time updates on publicly traded companies, aggregating news from multiple sources, including major financial news outlets.
The news analytics provide key insights on the sentiment of the recent coverage (bearish or bullish), whether or not there has been an increase in the volume of stories recently, and if there is any relation between the news sentiment and the stock performance.
How to access News and Analyst Ratings
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced investor, our enhanced research tools are a valuable resource to help you achieve your investment goals. You can view these new tools with just a few simple steps:
- Login to your Qtrade account.
- Look up the symbol you're interested in researching in the search bar under the Get Quotes section or select it from the Quotes and Market Info section of the dashboard.
- Navigate to the Analyst Ratings tab to view recent analyst consensus, price forecasts, and ratings for your selected stock.
- Navigate to the News tab to see recent news activity along with the overall sentiment of the coverage.
